From own
experience and based on different research, I thought of a Social Innovation to address
the problems in a problem neighbourhood.
My main vision is that we use a wrong approach to solve these kinds of problems. Most of the time, solutions are given in a top-down approach, and I want a bottom-up approach.
The second main thing is that I want to focus on the strengths of the residents living in a problem neighbourhood.
I want to realise that by giving them co-ownership of the community-centre. I think with all the individual talents in such a neighbourhood, they can create a really good working and divers community-centre. They know what is best for them, because they are actually living in it, and they can find the solutions. With the support of the social workers they can break the negativity in their life and start with a positive new beginning.
