Let's Eat Together by  Carine Pol, Communication
About 30% of the Dutch peoples is lonely. That is to say that 3,5 million on a total of 12 million adults is lonely. Of these people approximately 20% is pretty lonely and 10% is very lonely. Loneliness can have serious consequences. Loneliness increases blood pressure, the level of stress and the change of a depression. Lonely people have a probability of 14% of an early death than the average person. One of my neighbours doesn’t have family anymore. So sometimes he comes to my parents’ home, because he wants to talk to somebody. Because the rest of the day he is alone.

I want to arrange meetings for lonely people 50 in community centres and in smaller groups at someone’s home. Sometimes the people can cook by themselves, but for dinners for Christmas and Easter I want to make an arrangement with local supermarkets. Maybe the local supermarkets want to support the idea by donating food.
Would you be willing to help your neighbours?
Invite them for a dinner at your place.
