Blind Date Your New Family by Ben-Anatase Nsabimana, Training French
We live in
an individualistic society that has started to take a toll on the older
generations of our communities. Loneliness is now a growing chronicle problem
that seems to be part of getting old. Yet our desire to be surrounded by people
and sharing laughter and friendship is something every generation wishes.
Generations
like the parents with young children who arrive in this country and therefore find
themselves without the extended relatives to celebrate birthdays and holidays. By
organizing a date with members of these three generations, I would like to
combat the loneliness of our elderly by introducing them to these young and
joyful faces that in return will learn the traditions and customs of the
Netherlands from them.
Typical
Dutch games and snacks from around the world in a park where new relationships
are born.
