Positive Vibe: Studies! by Joost van der Meij, Maatschappelijk Werk en Dienstverlening

My idea is a new motivation technique implementable on HBO schools. This system is designed to give studies a more ‘competitive’ character and give students a potential chance of being financially rewarded for their hard work, just like they will when they have a job after their studies have finished. The idea is to give students a cash-back at the end of the school year based on the amount of EC’s that they have collected during that year. The system must work quickly and efficiently. Motivating students can only be done to let them feel that they have done something that the school values most, which is collecting the maximum amount of EC’s. To do that there must be no delay in paying out the cash-backs. The intention of this idea is to make students feel that their hard work is paying off, literally.
